Ancient musical instruments come to Yarpole

If you were asked to name some musical instruments the chances are you wouldn’t mention the shawm, curtal or psaltery. Many instruments that were popular in the 16^th century have now virtually disappeared – which makes this opportunity very special.

On Saturday, 10^th May at 5.30pm, Lizzie Gutteridge, a specialist in old instruments, will be displaying and performing on them in the Parish Hall. She’s a joy to watch and to listen to, and this hour-long recital is not to be missed. Tickets cost £10 on the door.
