It’s that time of year again – the Yarpole Shop Annual Members’ Meeting, (AMM) is coming up shortly.
Attached, you will find the agenda for the meeting and last year’s AMM minutes, which can also be found on the shop section of the Yarpole website - yarpole.org - (please note that the site is now .org and not .com as it was) and a copy of the summary accounts for 2022 will be posted on the website closer to the meeting.
It is critical that we are quorate for the AMM to take place and so, please put the date in your diaries if it is not there already. Thursday 15th June at 7.00 pm at St Leonard’s Church.
We would strongly encourage as many shareholders as possible to join the meeting so you can learn about what has been going on in your shop over the last 12 months and the plans for the future.
If you would like to place any questions at the meeting which are pertinent to the agenda items, we would ask that these be sent by email to the Company Secretary, Lindsay Slade, at
It is also so important to emphasise that a standing item on the agenda for the AMM is the election by you, the shareholders, of the Management Board for the year 2023/2024. We would, of course, be very pleased for members who may be interested in putting themselves forward for election to complete a nomination form and deliver to the secretary via the shop before the 3rd June. Nomination forms are available from the Shop or on the link on the shop section of yarpole.org (as above).
If you wish to discuss any of the topics in this communication or would like to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of the Management Committee members, please do not hesitate to contact me at
Please note that although the meeting is open to everyone,
only shareholder members are eligible to vote.
This year we are also able to return to making grants from the shop surplus and again it will be shareholders who will be entitled to vote if we are oversubscribed.
We are grateful for your continued support of the Yarpole Community Shop Association.
And of course, we look forward to you staying on after the meeting for a drink, some nibbles and a chat!
With kind regards and stay well.
Jon Pitts
(Chair of the Yarpole Community Shop Association)
